Bio - There were only 40 coffee companies in the whole USA when RC started Montana Coffee Traders in 1981. Since that time RC has set up roasting facilities in Monteverde, Costa Rica (www.cafemonteverde.com) , Moscow Russia, Austin Texas, and September, 2003 the newest location in  Kalingrad, Russia. The two primary facilities are Montana and Texas. In Montana our locations are in Whitefish (on the Highway and also downtown), Kalispell and Colombia Falls.

Visit www.coffeetraders.com for a look at the story line.  RC's expertise in retail stores extends back into the mid 70's when he built and ran Houston Golf Academy at Westheimer and HWY 6. This Pro Shop, Golf School, Driving Range, Executive 9 hole golf course employed recently retired Pro Jackson Bradley and 8 other PGA Teachers. The Pro shop was in the top ten sales for Ben Hogan Clubs in the USA. RC's Pro Shop also became one of the first facilities in the USA making custom clubs by purchasing the components from Golf Smith of Austin Texas. After selling the facility and the land RC moved to the Flathead Valley in Montana, surrounded by 4 million acres of wilderness including The Crown Jewel of the US National Parks, Glacier Park and established Coffee Traders. Since 1981 the Montana Coffee Traders organization runs 4 retail stores in the Flathead Valley. These are working models that allow RC to understand the Coffee Shop business with hands on experience.  RC has consulted and helped  over 1000 coffee shop, cafes, drive thrus, mobile espresso vans and restaurants to get into business. He also has seen the failures and understands what it takes to be successful.

Equipment - The sales and service of the coffee, espresso, frozen drink and smoothie equipment has developed into a separate business called Coffee Techs.  Visit their site at www.coffeetechs.com.    This department works with all the manufacturers and is trained and licensed for install and warranty work on machines from around the world.

Coffee Traders is a one stop shop offering a complete package from consulting on floor-plans, business plans, equipment lists, to Texas Fresh roasted coffees and all the needed supplies to produce drip coffees, espresso based drinks, Frappaccinos, smoothies, bubble teas, hot teas, ice cream, gelato and granitas.
