COFFEE CATERING ASSISTANT

Supervisor: Catering Manager

Position:  Coffee Catering Assistant & UT Barista

Position summary:  The Catering Assistant on UT Campus has the primary responsibility to brew coffee and set up an aesthetically pleasing catering order, along with small treats, for events. This person will act as a Brand Ambassador of Texas Coffee Traders with a professional and positive attitude in order to establish and maintain good relationships with customers while increasing our client base for returning and new catering events.

Qualifications

●      High school diploma or equivalent

●      1-2 years experience in foodservice or related field

●      Current Texas Food Handlers Certification

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Brewing coffee; basic barista and coffee knowledge

  • Set up catering station to company standards as well as adhering to health code

  • Work some barista shifts on UT campus as schedule warrants

  • Assist with back room maintenance

  • Clean and maintain all catering equipment

  • Regular and effective communication with Catering and Campus Managers

  • Flexible schedule with Early mornings and some weekends

●      Works clean and efficiently; follows current food safety and sanitation practices

●      Flexibility to increase or reduce work hours on a weekly basis as business warrants

●      Ability to communicate via phone, text and email

●      Basic computer skills -- i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite.

 

Physical Demands

●      Position requires standing for long periods of time

●      Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, reach overhead, climb

●      Some heavy lifting of up to 40 lbs
